Downtown Flagstaff is full of history and character. Walk the galleries, restaurants and coffee shops. Highlights are Shane Knight Gallery, Tourist Home Coffee, SHIFT for dinner, photos in the alleys and in front of murals. Make a special stop at the Train Depot to take a photo with the route 66 floor mural. Summer months have movies on the square on Saturdays.

Ride the Rim at Grand Canyon
if you’re visiting Grand Canyon for the day – here is our highest recommendation: rent a bike at Bright Angel Bicycles next door to the Grand Canyon visitor center and ride the rim. It’s an amazing experience and you’ll see WAY more than if you simply walk to the edge and look. Lots of paved trails that ride right along the edge of the rim. It’s really awesome for families.Also, if you can swing it, it’s highly recommended that you stay for a sunset. Well worth the wait.

Hike West Fork Canyon
This slice of paradise is a side Canyon that weaves into Oak Creek Canyon. Hike as little or as much as you want (it goes 8 miles back) but it’s gorgeous all the way through. Great hike with kids. Excellent destination for dipping your feet in the creek and getting some sun, but shade available all the way. Parking fills quickly, and you may have to park road side and hike it. Follow your hike with lunch at Indian Gardens, with a Japanese garden outdoor patio and excellent food! W Fork Trail, Sedona, AZ 86336

Sedona is one of the best places in the world to visit if you love epic vistas and beautiful clear cool creeks. Our favorite hikes are Red Rock Crossing (Baldwin Crossing), Bell Rock, Sycamore Canyon, Devil’s Bridge, and Vulcan’s Anvil.

Arizona Snowbowl
Arizona Snowbowl is our local ski hill on the North Side of the mountain. Snowbowl combines natural snow with artificial snow for beautiful, world class groomed slopes. Flagstaff has some incredible wall art scattered throughout the city. If you’re looking to take home awesome souvenirs in the form of great pictures… we recommend around town (mostly downtown) and taking pictures with some of these treasures! (Picture taken at the “Sound of Flight” mural located on the side of the Flagstaff Orpheum Theatre. While you’re there explore all the fantastic food that Flagstaff has to offer!

Pack a picnic and drive some of the incredible forest service roads around the Flagstaff and Oak Creek Canyon area. Want a convenient way to make the day go smoothly? Order your picnic lunch ahead and pick it up from Eat n’ Run cafe. Only a mile from the house. Grab a smoothie or coffee while you’re there! P.S.
